That is what I really wanted to know. Looking at the video side by side (original and the one rendered at 25 Mbps) they look the same quality. I am new at video editing but have experience with using Photoshop and when you reduce a file size you loose quality, that is what I was comparing it to.

Is there any way to custom add that rendering at 80 mbps to my version?
Since the most I can render at 25 mbps. -
Looks like the highest I can do in movie studio 11 is 25 mbps.
Don’t know if I want to spend $600 to get that little extra quality. -
Ok but back to my original question. The original file is 600mb for one minute of video. The highest quality I can do in rendering is 110mb. That is roughly a 1/6 drop in quality. Is there any way either in Vegas or some other program that I can get the same size and quality out of the file that I have put together as the original.

I figured it out. I have been using VLC to play videos for years and it is defaulted on my computer. I used windows media and ACdsee and they both played the rendered file at full HD, very clear.

What I want exactly is to be able to edit the .mov file that comes out of the camera at close to 600MB for 55 seconds and not lose 1/6 of the quality in rendering. I can see a clear reduction of quality in the rendering file at all HD levels compared to the original. Right now I am just trying to play it locally on my computer.
Even making a blu ray disk puts the output file at around 130MB. -
Some thing else to add….The file out of the camera is 55 seconds and 583 MB the highest HD after rendering is 99MB.
