This post is from 2007, so just wondering how much things have changed as far as codecs for broadcasting networks (HBO, Cinemax, Discovery, etc.). What do they want? I’m thinking XAVC HD 1920×1080, 4:2:2 10-bit color sampling, with 50Mbps, and at 24 or 30p ….Any thoughts? Thanks.

I just updated my Mac Pro laptop to Yosemite OS, which automatically updated my FCPX to 10.2 version. I still have not purchased the Sony PXW-X70 camcorder because of the mentioned issues in using XAVC Long GOP with FCPX 10.2. I definitely want to maintain 4:2:2 10-bit at 50 Mbps, so I’m wondering if this will be maintained when using FCPX 10.2. Any updates to the compatibility issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
