They did the first two lay backs from FCP to HD SR. Then they made a DVD dub (w/just the stereo L & R full mix)…BUT the DVD was in mono. So I went back–‘This ain’t right’–they go ‘ummm’, ‘It’s because your Lt/Rt aren’t ‘true stereo’–I go, ‘They are seperate mono wave files…one for L — one for R…you need to pan them. They say it doesn’t matter, they’re going into separate audio channels on the SR tape…so it is how you out put the SR when you down convert to DVD or digibeta or whatever. I say..’Ok then why do I have a mono DVD?

Yes I am confusing the terminology. I’m a songwriter–this is a movie I’m completing for my brother who passed. Sorry for my ‘greenness’. Yes these were the full mix RT/LT files–but each a mono wave file. The first layoff was from FCP I believe. Now their sister co has it (Novastar) and they’re attempting to lay off from Pro Tools…so they told me–the QT file has already been printed. I’m nervous about the whole thing. I brought them this project on 8/26–still not done right.
