Thanks Dan, although unchecking ‘Import Sequences Natively’ just alters the way Premiere “talks” with AME.

Premiere sequences don’t actually have codecs associated with them (they’re codec agnostic). The only time codecs come into play is when you set a preview format (for rendered previews only) or on export.

    Cheers,
    Paul

You cannot save transitions as custom effects in Premiere.

If you select the transition, you can copy and paste it to other clips with Edit > Copy/Paste.

August 13, 2015 at 7:57 pm in reply to: Vector map not scaling right

Premiere does not support scaling vector graphics, it treats them as bitmaps.

Either do the animation in After Effects (and make sure you check ‘continuously rasterize’ in the comp layer) or scale the vector to the largest size you’ll need it in Illustrator before importing it into Premiere.

  • I wasn’t able to recreate this problem in CC 2015 – my renders with the animation codec are importing without issue.

Can you tell us a bit more about the comp settings, dimensions, format, etc?

Can you open the files in Mpeg Streamclip?

Try exporting as Pro Res 4444 with alpha rather than Animation and see if this is a work around.

Also, opening Animation files in QT Player will convert them to Pro Res files (which don’t support alpha).

You may want to looking into using Audition for this – there are a few tools in there for making noise prints and then removing the noise from your audio.

  • After dragging the clip in the Program Monitor, press Shift+3 – that will move focus back to the timeline.

  • I tested this in CC, and after clicking the motion control box, the arrow keys still move to the previous or next frame. The only time the arrow keys move the actual position of the image is when I have the program monitor selected.

Regardless, if you select the timeline panel, the arrow keys should allow you to move between frames while still adjusting the position of the clip in the program monitor.

Set your in/out point to the region you want to play.

Go to your keyboard shortcuts and add a key for ‘Play Video In and Out’.

Otherwise, if you’d rather just click a button, click the ‘+’ at the bottom left of your timeline monitor, and drag the ‘Play Video In and Out’ button next to your other buttons (it looks like a play button with brackets around it).

  • I just came across this issue myself. With Amira footage in 2015, Premiere automatically adds a LUT to each file that you cannot disable/delete. You can only toggle it off use the fx switch in the Master Effect panel. It also seriously bloats the size of the project.

My workaround (for now) is to import everything into a new project in Premiere and export it as an XML. Then I import the XML into my actual project. The LUTS are stripped out, and the project file drops significantly (I saw a file reduce from 150MB to 1MB).

If you still need to apply the Amira LUT, apply one to the master effect of a clip, copy it in the Master Effect panel, select all the clips in your project panel and paste. This does not bring the project back up to its original bloated size.
