I haven’t used anything but the Sorenson Suite, although I’ve been very happy with it. They’ve just released a product to deal with HD you may find interesting (haven’t used that either), but version 4.3 of the Suite has been a great workhorse of a program for me.

Easy UI and it does what it advertises.

I just wanted to follow-up with last Friday’s post asking about the CalDigit S2VR desktop RAID.

One thing that I noticed in this thread was the absence of negative posts about the product or company. That nobody had anything negative to say in fact “said” alot.

Also, I called the CalDigit number above in this post and relayed my experience. The response I received was overwhelmingly polite and professional and completely changed my opinion. All of my concerns are resolved and I placed an order for the product.

While PPro is a great editor and can export to DVD, it’s really not a full featured DVD authoring tool. For converting your layered PSD files to DVD menus check Adobe Encore DVD – it works great!

As mentioned, the Tech Smith encoder [only] works with Camtaisa Studio. However, you could export your timeline from PPro and then import it into Camtasia were you could work with it there. I do this on a regular basis and it works fine.

I used the same route several years ago when bought my current workstation. I so satisfied with the results that I completely stopped paying attention to hardware because the thing worked so well. I hope you have the same experience.
