Saving presets
I used one of the text animation presets in version 7 and made several changes to the spacing of the keyframes, etc.
How do I save the changes as a new preset? The animation uses 2 animators and position, scale, opacity, and skew keyframes although the effects control is blank.
The help files say it’s possible but don’t say how to save the changes (I’ll keep reading). Thanks for any help!

To save an animation preset:
Select the properties, property group, and effects that contain the values or keyframes you want to save, and do one of the following:
Choose Animation > Save Animation Preset.
Click the Create New Animation Preset button in the Effects & Presets palette.
Choose Save Animation Preset from the Effects & Presets palette menu.
Drag the selected items from the Timeline window to the Effects & Presets palette.
Choose Save Selection as Animation Preset from the Animation Preset menu in the Effect Controls window.
Enter a name for your animation preset, and click OK.
Save the file to the Presets folder, which is inside the Support Files folder of the application folder. The preset appears in the Effects & Presets palette. (If you created a new folder inside the Presets folder, the new folder also appears in the palette.) -
