    Hi,

I would use all ‘best’ settings in AE. And remember to render LOWER FIELD FIRST.

The ‘banding’ you are getting is because of the 640×480 file you tried.

I really am not sure exactly how long this will take on your machine. You really aren’t adding any filters or anything that is time-consuming. I’d render it overnight….a 90 minute program should finish on your machine overnight….I think!

Remember, export ‘by reference’ from Media100 and bring that reference file into AE. Render at 720×486 lower field first. After rendering, crop your file in BitVice and make your appropriate settings.

Let us know how things went!

    Hi,

Just for the record…I am not Floh.

    But…here’s my 2-cents…

    BitVice is fantastic…..however…..

You really need to import a 720×486 file into BitVice. Take your 640×480 file into After Effects and render it as a 720×486 file. Then bring it into BitVice and crop your movie (this will turn your file into a rendered 720×480 movie), which will be usable in DVD Studio Pro or any other app you use to author.

Hope this helped a Bit (no pun intended),

  • OK…I was in a panic.

I was helped by an angel who told me to simply trash all my ‘.plist’ files.

It worked…everything is right with the world now.

I apologize for all my posts. Thanks to everyone.

    Now let’s move on…..

  • Oh my gosh I am stumped. 14 years on this thing and I can’t figure it out.

    I reinstalled, deleted preferences….stumped!!!

If anyone can offer anymore advice, please feel free.

Thanks Floh & Kieran….if you can think of anything else please let me know.

  • ….oh, and I just updated to the latest Quicktime version and removed all DIVX files.

    Still not working….hmmmm….

  • OS 10.3.9….Quicktime 7.0.4….Media100 8.2.3. The thing is, I just moved and I never had this problem prior to moving….which is just weird.

    I’ll try your other suggestions.

    Thanks again Floh,

    Paul
