    Oh Man, what a dufus….

to many night shoots. I’ve just upgraded the software and I have no idea if it was there, staring me in the face in the previous versions, but I can now see the (show) OK button. Problem(s) solved.

Sorry to waste web space. I should have just taken my time to get my head around the tool myself.

    Cheers

    I’m having a classic day –

Doh, sorry folks this was an obvious fix – the audio monitor tick was randomly off in the information tab. Which although is a simple fix it’s still pretty weird that any were off in the first place. Because I didn’t switch them off.

But here’s another thing… or am I being dumb here, again?

All the clips that were marked ‘ok’ in the field aren’t showing up in the transfer tool. But they’re still on the card. I’ve taken all the ‘ok’s’ off them and restarted everything and they’re still not showing up in the TTool.

I’m pretty new to the solid state thing as you can probably tell. Am I missing something?

I have posted this over in the EX forum as well.

    Cheers

Okay. I’ve sorted this. Doh, pretty obvious really – just clicked on list and sorted by time code in there and then clicked back to image view and hey presto…

But another real issue has cropped up. When viewing from the clip browser in XD transfer tool, some of the clips that I know have audio recorded on (because I’ve previewed it on the camera) are playing back mute in the preview.

The audio is there again after I import into M100. Just can’t hear some of the clips in the Transfer tool. Makes it very hard to select clips to import.

Anyone else come across this issue?

    Cheers

Hey guys thanks for that. The client is putting clips into a power point and asked for wmvs. Not sure what else will play out of powerpoint because I know nothing about it.

All I know is I started with 1080i 50 footage and I’ve set the project up as proress.

To be honest, I’m still getting my head around the details of working in HD and have got a lot to learn but as you say I’ll probably run this past the compression techniques forum as well. I put it through here first because I’ve always found the M100 crowd very interesting, helpful and knowledgeable.

Thanks for that David. How does the resulting wmv file look? And what codecs/settings do you use?

Unfortunately I don’t have a PC to run procoder on. I was hoping to do it all on my mac and get the best results using existing software. Although… hmm I wonder how procoder runs on XP on a mac via Parallels, Fusion or whatever.

Still keen to hear from people who have processed 1080i – wmv via M100 entirely on a mac though.
Particularly interested in codec/settings in and out of software workflow – in detail.

    Thanks Heaps Daniel.

I took it down to 7 and it’s playing great. I tweaked some of the filters and it’s looking as good as the original SD footage which wasn’t really that flash to begin with. It’s historical stuff shot on VHS by the look of it.

    Cheers again.

    Thanks for the reply Daniel.

No it’s just SD. To be honest I’ve never really encoded for these kind of devices so I was experimenting. What are the best MBs settings do you think I can expect it to play?

I’ve taken it down to AVE 9.0, max 10.7 – is that still to high?

    Cheers Paul
