Yes, I believe that the tackiness will definately be a problem. There is a high probability that the discs will stick together if stacked before the needed drying time.

After you had it cleaned did you ever try the Sony/80 again or did you stick with the Panasonic.

Hello Marc,

It’s the full size Sony DVCam/184 tapes that get stuck. I’ve had this deck for several years and have never had this problem until now. Oddly, the Sony/60 MiniDV tapes continue to work fine but if I pop in a DVCam/184 it jams again. I have never used anything but sony tapes in my cameras and deck as I understand each brand uses a different lubricant and mixing the tapes may cause problems. Now I have a dilema. Do I give the full size panasonic tapes a try or do I send the deck in for what I’m sure will be an expensive repair bill.
