I am a newbie to FCP. i am using the latest version of FCP Studio on a MacBook Pro (Intel) with the Snow Leopard OS. My camera is a Canon HG10, which records AVCHD files directly to the camera’s Hard Drive.

I achieved success by transferring my files from the camera to my Computer via USB. I had about 4GB of video, which took about 5 minutes to transfer.

Next, I opened up FCP and then clicked on the log and transfer option. There is an “Add Volume” option in the upper left hand corner (It is an icon). I clicked on that and found my Canon Video Folder. FCP automatically loaded the clips into the queue.

I selected “ALL” of the clips to process and pressed “Auto Transfer”. The rest was done automatically for me by FCP.
