Its not a very expensive plug-in and we use it in real world professional productions.

Currently im working as freelance compositor in a post facility called http://www.daf.cl and sorry for my english but i dont understand what you mean with cross-grade.

    I agree with Greg.
There’s a lot of ways to solve your problem.

    I usually use this method.

    1. Super Tight Matte (you must see Aharon Rabinowitz tutorial)

    2. Color Correct the footage. (levels, curves, hue, saturation)

    3. Try to smooth the color to be keyed. (blur o reencode the video to a 422 codec and begin again).

    4. Apply Keylight (READ THE MANUAL!!!!!!! Dont get mad trying to obtain a perfect key is good to leave some details in some zones like the hair)

    5. Alpha Levels (You can do some fine tuning with this)

Take a look at this incredible piece of software Key Correct Pro from Red Giant Software. https://www.redgiantsoftware.com/products/all/key-correct-pro/

And please remember, try to avoid HDV cameras to do any keying process.

OK. All that is true but if you are looking for power and muscles, fast renders and expandability, the Mac Pro tower is the best choice.

If you work only with photos and with SD video buy the macbook pro, but if you plan to do HD videos. you’ll be in trouble.

Maybe you made a gramatic error you miss the underscore.
Maybe try doing a Time remapping, but before precompose the layer.

This expresion works fine for me.

    loop_out(“cycle”,0)

Try using first the 3-way color correction filter.
Adjust de whites, then the blacks and if you really need to adjust gamma, usually you got to move the saturation slide in the same way.

Then apply the broadcast safe filter over all that.

    Finally Render.

Tip: Dont leave any white over 100 IRE and depending the “look” you want to obtain, you can go around 90 IRE in whites to recover some details and crush the blacks to 0 IRE to cine like blacks.

Try the new FCS 2 hability to capture directly HDV in Prores without any card.
Or convert in the timeline settings to pro res codec and re render.
If you really want to monitor HDV.
    mmmm
Get a Matrox MXO or a Blackmagic HDlink
