Thanks for your reply! I just used a trial version of Procoder Express (we’re planning to buy a compression software, so we’re trying a few), and compared with my preview compression in Adobe Media Encoder, the results were better and faster (15 minutes to compress 3 minutes of non compression .avi file)
    Settings:
Generic ISO MPEG stream, MPEG-2 Program Stream, 1920*1080 25 fps Upper Field First (the Soloist player only admited interlaced media), 16×9, MP@HL 25CBR, Highest Quality, Intra DC Precision: 9, Error Protection, no emphasis, and that’s all.

But, as I said, I still have to blur some image areas to “hide” artifacts. Could it be a limitation of MPEG2? What about using H.264?

    Thanks again in advance.

  • Hi
I used to go exactly through the same process to compress from avid to DVD. I remember that I had to disable “autoremove interlace flickering” (filter settings) everytime I launched Sorenson Squeeze 4: it was always on by default… it took me some time to discover what was creating a blur/progresive look in my dvds.
