Thanks!
but, if the project is going to be maniny shot on red, and then edited in prores 444, does the 5d footage have to be transcoded at 444 at some point? I am confused, with this, I guess it depends on the export, lest say the project can be show in theaters
I found using the media manager, could be a good solution, edit in h264, and then converto what i really want to prores. Delete unused media and then convert the rest to prores, does this make any diffrence to the log and transfer window process? The recompress media manager option miss the Eos movie option that appears in the preferences of log and transfer window, is this important?

On this project , almost everything is shoot with a red one, and then a few shots with the 5D, can be this a factor to use 444 with the 5D footage to edit?
Thanks a lot!

Hi again, Since te EDL option was giving me errors, I coopied the edit original project in a new one, since the original files (not transcoded to pro res) were in a diffrent herd drive than the transcoded one, I turned off the HD and once the media is missind I have reconnect the media from the transcoded files, I believe the secuance preset still remins prores 422, and I got problem solved, is that right?
now, should I export in quick time conversion or just a quictime movie in 422? doing this should I mark self contained movie? In quick time conversion i get a medion quqlity setting in preress 422. When using the conversion, I see the current size is still 720 before i switch to prores and size 1920, this made suspicios is this whole process is not valid

I have use the plug in and now I have all the files in 422 and ready, but my main worry is the EDL thing. I am triying to open the edel i created with the first edit and I get an eeror saiying thet is not possible to open EDL, markers have been place where error occured. Can I solve this? I never tried an EDL operation before. Can I use the same original edit project with the new files trough this or any other way?
thanks a lot

Hello, I been looking at the specs of the sdx900 and it wasn´t native either. I did not know there was no difference, so 24pn is more like a way to save space then?
I am looking at the f100 , it looks really nice, I m choosing between this and the pxh 500, I dont know id the DVCHD would be a bbter choice than the f100 format. I been looking at some sony as well, but in sony I think the colors are very cold, is this just me?
Thanks a lot!

Hello, thanks for the input. I was going to college at olumbia College Chicago some years ago, great city!
Is a documentary to be shown in theaters and festival, then broadcast and sold in DVD
I have lost track with all these new cameras since I did a project 3 years ago with the sdx900
Something that is giving me a headache is: besides the technical issues, is there a difference in the look of the video if you shoot 25p vs. 25pn? I mean, does the 25p looks kind of fake compared to the native 25P or something like that?
I am looking at sony cameras too, and they dont say anything about 24PN, in the specs is just 24p, and that´s with the xpensive models too, why?
Thanks a lot for your help
