Thanks for the info about the bitrate shown in PP versus win explorer. Very useful. Yes the file will end up on a DVD eventually with a bunch of other files totally about 3 hrs on a DVD9. [It would be for my personal/private use, so standardization is not an issue.] I used a bitrate calculator on Google to determine that 3 hrs video, transcoded at around 5500 bitrate in Adobe Media Encoder, would fit on a DVD9. That would be pretty decent uqality video. In the past I had actually put 3hrs+ video on a single layer DVD, by transcoding it at about 2000. True, it wasn’t very good video, but it wasn’t worse than the source material.
