I see the waveforms and the spikes. Is what I am looking at the rendered clip brought back into Vegas?

What you’re looking at in the screenshot is the AC3 audio in DVD Architect 5.0.

If that is the case go back to your timeline and try just rendering a short portion that overlaps the trouble spot and see what the results are. Of course you will have to render to another audio format. Also is you render the whole thing in another format does it do the same thing?

If I render any portion of the audio in any format before or after the 1:04 mark, it turns out fine. The problem is, if I want to avoid recompression, DVDA must use AC3 or PCM.

I’ve never come across this issue and I use many tracks as well. for it to hiccup at this spot tells me that Vegas does not like something at this point and is throwing the rendering process a curve. Of course rendering the audio is not CPU intensive ad is video for I doubt it is a resource issue. Anyway let me know what you find.

I agree that it’s not a resource issue as I had the same problem in 2008 rendering a different project on a different laptop. It seems that for some reason, the render process is not capturing all the audio/tracks. Perhaps due to length? I have rendered short films, testimonials and hour long plays with no problems. It just seems to happen whenever I render anything over a certain length with more than a few audio tracks. I did take the project back to my older laptop and rendered/re-rendered there until everything was captured from beginning to end, but I don’t want to have to do that every time I need to render the audio for these large projects.

I presume you are talking about the audio stream for your video. Are you giving both the video clip and the audio the same name so that DVDA will find both?

Yes, I am talking about the audio AC3 encoding. The audio and video both share the same name.

Is your video dropping out also then?

The video is fine and does NOT drop out.

Not sure what you mean by some sound effects are remaining.

At any random point after the one hour and 4 minute mark, the tracks within the render begin to drop out; sometimes just leaving one of the sound effects tracks, sometimes nothing. If you look at the waveform in the screenshot below, you’ll see that after the 1 hour and 4 minute mark, there are big empty patches, followed by a spike every once in a while. It is totally random.

How many tracks of audio are you rendering to create your audio track for DVDA? It sounds like you have the effects on a different track.

I have a total of 14 audio tracks with different tracks for music, sound effects, dialogue, over dubs, etc.
