Just had a similar problem. After some searching, I figured out that I’d put the objects in question on a layer that had is animation turned off. So yeah the animation was working you just couldn’t see it because the layer was muting it. I’m not sure how I turned it off in the first place. Maybe a hotkey or something? At any rate one click and it was good too go.

Yeah I just like that it doesn’t mess with the gamma and you don’t have fiddle with it so much. It just works.
