I recently started Log and Capture of my first reel (of 7) and have discovered many TC breaks. After each break the time code goes back to zero. I can capture it all, but I am working on a long documentary and I am afraid that after I have my sequences done, FCP will not give me the correct shot since there will be several scenes with the same TC. I read on another post that the best thing to do is transfer this reel and maybe others to new tapes which will generate new timecodes and new reel numbers. Is this the best and easiest way? If I don’t have 2 cameras, can I capture everything and then export it to a tape from FCP and will that still generate new T.C? Must I put it all on a timeline first? Any suggestions?
