Behaves the same way with drop frame tape.

We only work in non-drop frame.

Actually whats going on is that the composite out from the Sony deck is feeding the Canpous 110. The signal is converted the dv by the canopus and that is what final cut is seeing.
The Keyspan plugs into the USB port of the mac and converts the RS-422 into something the computer/fcp can understand. This system was previously on a G4 and worked fine.
And yes, non controlled capture works fine.

I’m using a keyspan serial adapter.
