Wow, I’ve never heard of that. Sorry. I am hoping that John Rofrano or one of the experts will jump in. If they don’t jump in in a day, I am thinking that maybe you should re-post.
Vegas and other NLE’s are considered ‘non-destructive.’ That is, they don’t modify your files. They also should not damage your OS or your installation in any way.
Right now the only thing that comes to mind is Format C:\ and give it a known clean start. You could wait for a day for more responses, but Format C:\ might be your best option. It should also wipe out any kind of low-level virus or trojan or anything. Some of the more advanced malware target the various pro-level AV programs (e.g., Norton, McAfee, AVG), and so they escape detection: but Format C:\ should kill everything.
