I dunno, I am kind of excited about the closed captioning thing. I want to do lots more with that, and wrote Sony twice about closed captioning. I am kind of thrilled to see them announce more support for that. Where can I learn more about how that implements?
Also, I wrote Sony maybe three times to ask them to offer more FX native in Vegas, and I am thrilled to see them lay the groundwork for that also. It would be nice not to ever have to leave Vegas 🙂 Will our existing plug-ins still work in Vegas 10?
I still have so much to learn about Vegas 9, and now they are coming out with 10….

You are trying to convince the wrong people.
Click on FORUMS in the upper left hand corner, and then select COWmmunications Feedback in the upper left hand area of the grid of choices. Address your suggestion to the powers that moo, but I would not advise holding your breath.

You are aware that Sony Vegas is a PC based program?
So I assume you mean which Mac works best with Boot Camp?

The very fastest ones have solid state hard drives (SSD). If you are made of money or do intensive 3D work (time is money), that is the way to go. But if not, simply getting a separate C:\ and D:\ will go a long way.

Wow, I’ve never heard of that. Sorry. I am hoping that John Rofrano or one of the experts will jump in. If they don’t jump in in a day, I am thinking that maybe you should re-post.
Vegas and other NLE’s are considered ‘non-destructive.’ That is, they don’t modify your files. They also should not damage your OS or your installation in any way.
Right now the only thing that comes to mind is Format C:\ and give it a known clean start. You could wait for a day for more responses, but Format C:\ might be your best option. It should also wipe out any kind of low-level virus or trojan or anything. Some of the more advanced malware target the various pro-level AV programs (e.g., Norton, McAfee, AVG), and so they escape detection: but Format C:\ should kill everything.

That would seem to indicate that Vegas renders perhaps three times as fast on the Core i7 than the CoreDuo Quad. Does that seem to match your experience? If so, that is much faster than the 40% overall gains that Intel was advertising initially with the Core i7. (Also, what was the clock/overclock speed on the Core i7 in this test?)
