One other issue i wanted to find out is how come some music videos look so clear on TV but regardless of my settings; my dvd videos don’t look as crystal clear…in fact, they look blurry.

Hie John,
‘Am trying to use my Sony : HXR-NX5E to shoot a subject on green screen at 4:2:2 so i can have the best signal for post.
Apart from using i.e the Ninja and other high end solutions to do this, is it possible to use a video card on my pc and connect a firewire cable straight from the camera to pc in order to stream the 4:2:2 signal during the live shoot?
thanks in advance

Thanks for the response John, i was hoping the camera had a fast kinda smart zoom; something like the expanded focus. I guess i have to see if i can outsource additional cameras.
God bless!

Hie Paul,
‘Am trying to set up a similar project for a church tv programme which supports both 19:9 and 4:3 Pal aspect ratios for broadcast. ‘Am a newbie.
if a edit my project at 16:9 aspect ratio with center safe for making sure my action stays within 4:3 and i export the 19:9 for broadcast at non-square pixel; will it mean the footage will work for both aspect ratios only in 4:3 part of the side frames will be cut to leave only the center safe?
Am asking this because i’ve seen some programmes which look stretched in wide tv screens and i dont want to make that mistake otherwise it may end my new career before even starting:)
your help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Thanks so much for your response John,
I used the camera with auto settings but did the test indoors at night with normal house lighting.
i’ll try it under different conditions, as you’ve suggested, and give you feedback.

Hie,
‘Am new to cameras and stuff and just recently bought a sony nxcam hxr-nx5e camcorder. The problem is; i thought since its an HD camcorder, my footage would appear crystal clear when imported into i.e After Effects, however my footage looks too grainy and not high def.i’ve searched around on google for answers on how to get the best quality for editing but to no avail. I’ve tried changing my capture settings to 1920x1080iFX as well ad 1920x1080p FX but still the footage doesnt look great.
i dont know if its my lack of experience or something am not doing right. Your help will greatly be appreciated since i really need to use the camera to make a living.
Help! anybody! Please!
