… isn’t anything made with the pen tool a bezier path? The latter part of the instructions was confusing. I kept trying to click once, but realized eventually that I had to double click the vertex, as you described the first time.

As I mentioned there:
Oh wow, yeah. I guess that can all work the same. I didn’t realize you can snap to the grid, and that you can specify the grid size and can change the stroke size to any fraction. So you’re right, I have total control with only using lines. No use in using excel, though that would be good for doing it on the fly.

That’s the beauty of vectors I suppose 🙂

I’m still going to use illustrator because it gives me more control for greater aesthetics, etc., but that’s probably the best tool for being able to make them on the fly, once you set it up.

The connect tool does look helpful.

As far as using the pen tool is concerned, the thing is, the pen tool can only approximate things as I expand the thickness, and I would like it to be exact, so that I use the stacks and connect the ends of two curves to the corners of each stack, and I can furthermore manipulate the curves as I wish. Does this make sense?

Just went to Preferences > Media > Clean

Did it a couple times, rebooting.

Any other ideas?

To summarize, when opening an image file, whether a PSD or a PNG or whatever, the image may look grainy on screen compared to how they look in other programs, because illustrator does not continually rasterize for on-screen display. When you save the image as a pdf or print it, as I did, it comes out as it does in the other programs.

hahahaha
that was not the image i was wanting to do, it was instructions on how to print on multiple sheets…
In any case, you answered my question. It does look grainy in Illustrator, but it’s not when you print it.

Do you know why it’s like this, out of curiosity?
