Thank you, that did the trick with a little modification for my needs (300 followers). It also sped up my render time by a ton!

Tried it on 2 different computers. It seems to just be the followers that are having the problem. I tried adjusting the rotation, but that didn’t help.
Possbile work around … any way to have it output the auto-orient value to a expression variable?

If you’re still looking, we use a D-35 w/ a DSR-1 Back (DVCAM). I believe this back will work on the D-50. This could off-set your cost by not having to purchase an entire new camera, and you still have all the power and picture you’re used to with the D-50. It works for our needs, however we’re only DVCAM around here. We rarely do Chroma Key, so we don’t have many of those problems. For everything else, the quality is fine, and we only broadcast off our server at 25mbps.

Welcome to the world of shooting on DVCAM. The only way to reduce it is to minimize contrasting colors.

We have a sierra 32×32 Analog Video/Audio router in a studio/edit/dub situation. It saves us a lot of time and hassle.
I took a look at the catalog at the Sierra Pro line and that looks like it’ll do what you want.
I don’t know if it’ll convert a Composite to a Component internally, or vice versa. The best would to be find with all RGB/Comp/SDI inputs. You may also want to consider a system with RS232/422 routability as well.

Hopefully this helps, video example of what I have and I’m trying to do.

Thanks for the replies, and yes it is a luma matte (Black and White) which is animated. Goes from totally back and has a transition into white with various effects to do so and back to black (fade in, wait, out)
Ignore the background for now.
I want to use this animated luma matte with a text layer in FCP. That is all I’m really asking.
The reason I don’t want to do all of these in AFX is because i have about 100 of these to do, and I have to build a separate comp for each on in afx, and any changes that need to be made I have to shuffle between programs. It seems a lot easier to build a matte and apply it into FCP.
In AFX it is literally a one click process to do this same thing.
The text, paired with the luma matte, with synch up with the transition of the background animation.
I hope this clears up any confusion.
