    Hey,

what works really well as well is JES de-interlacer.
It’s a free app for De-interlacing and for standards conversion.
Personally I’m happy with the results.
    It’s fast and tidy.

    Hi,

I’m afraid you’re bet may be right.
I checked the manual for the EIZO Foris and it mentions indeed
    a 2 frame delay.
It features a ‘game mode’ called ThruMode which should reduce
this delay to 1 frame. But still I’m stuck with a feeling of ‘soft sync’.
How unfortunate that this expensive, and good monitor has this delay.

I checked the Io Express control panel and there is no such thing
(as you mentioned for the IoHD) to compensate for the audio sync.

Later today I will check with a regular studio TV to see what happens.
It will be through sdi or component though, and not through HDMI.

I guess I’ll start looking for an audio delay device to compensate
    my unlucky situation.

thanks for thinking along and I will keep you posted

Hmm. Didn’t know some TVs or monitors would do that.
I don’t dispose of another monitor with HDMI.
Could try a regular TV with analog video and see what happens.
Of course I have to work with this Eizo and via HDMI eventually…
Are you familiar with any possibility of setting up a delay for the video-signal ?
I have never come across anything like that in FCP.
I haven’t found anything like that in the AJA utility tool either.

I also mailed the AJA support people but radio-silence so far unfortunately.

cheers and thanks for thinking along,
    Nico

    I tried both options :

    – analog audio output from io Express / video over HDMI to monitor (TV)
    – audio over HDMI to monitor (TV) and using the TV audio output

Both had the same result : sound comes 2 frames early when playing.

When scrubbing, frame by frame, audio is in sync.
When I don’t use the AJA but use the DVI and audio line out from the Mac,
sound and picture are sync as well… but of course I want to use my AJA 😉

    thanks for responding
    Nico
