I’m looking for a consumer HD that I can use for my editing (don’t need anything as large as 42″). I realize I will probably have a minimum size to actually handle 1080 but since the monitor will be on my desk I need to keep the size in mind. Any suggestions? I just don’t have the budget for a pro model and I really don’t do color correction.
Great info. Thanks Craig. I’ve been wrestling with the best way to backup our SD cards here. We do not currently have the PDW-U1 but could purchase one. Any comments on how well that works to make backups of the cards to the optical discs? Thanks.
Hi Roger. I never did get a solution to this. However, and unfortunately, I’m about to move to a new FCP system. I hope an old dog can learn new tricks.
Just used a few MxR cards in the EX3 and EX30 deck – everything worked great. I’m not familiar with the “split” and the other card. Also, Ross at e-films is very helpful.
Sorry – when I saw 24″p” I assumed that meant progressive which would not be “i” or interlaced. I understand slowing down to 24 frames – just didn’t think 24p and 1080i were compatible. I need to stick to just reading this forum.
