I appreciate the feedback but I never found the anwser to the question if After Effects uses the CPU or the GPU for Ram Previews.

Yes, it is an Open GL setup and it is enabled.
The card is the GeForce 7800GTAlso, all applicable drivers are loaded and working properly.
As far as other settings I have no idea what else to set.

It did occur to me after reading your reply that staggering is somewhat of a relative term based on the impatience of the person using it. So that may have been a poor choice of words considering I would label waiting twenty minutes to get a table in a restaurant as
