The MKH416 is pretty pricy for me fight now since I just bought an HVX200. Is there a good shotgum mic at the 250.00 + or – level that will give me pretty good sound until I can go up to the MKH416?

    Any advice wil be appreciated.

thanks for all the input. I know this camera has a good track record, but I was starting to hear a few people knock it. When you are about to drop 5-6K that you don’t have betting on a decent return, one can get a little jump and does a lot of digging. I have been very satisfied with the 100A and B.

    thanks Jan.

is texas media systems, 4311 Medical Parkway Austin, TX 78756 an authorized dealer? If you have a page on your site that gives all the authorized dealers, I would appreciate it.

    thanks.

I am hip on all the info you guys gave me. So far B&H in NY won’t go under 5195 and studio exchange has the same price. If any knows where I can save 100-150 bucks send me there. I really need to pinch some pennys. I was also recommended a bogen 352 MVB tripod for 495.00. Is there a comperable tripod that is cheaper out there. I know this isn’t the post for tripods, but I don’t know where else to post.

If you know where I can post please forward me the link.

    Thanks.

I wasn’t looking for 3K………..more like 4500 range. Are they just the web prices on the authorized dealers websites? I am familiar with gray market cameras and woudn’t risk 2K to get screwed over. If anyone was able to get a deal at around 4500.00 or even a few bucks less from and authorized dealer, please let me know and send me their way. I now need a good price if i am going to have to get a P2 card on my own.

    Thanks,

  • thanks, I will take the easier way until I can afford a better camera.

  • Cool. I did do that a long time ago with a slate. I will use a mixer and an Mbox for recording. I may have mis asked the question. Can I record or capture video simutaneously in FCP for sync sound.

    Thanks.

I see both points. DVmatte blast works pretty well for me now. I have a G5 and roundtripping starts to slow my mac down. I may conisder shake.

I am hip. Other than color, I dont’ see too much in FCP studio. I am not a motion guru, but it looks like I can do a little more 3D work a little faster. My main concern is a good keyer. It looks like Premier has a good one built in. i wonder if they are using the Ultra algorithims. I wonder why Apple didn’t pick up on this. When I crew, 1 out of 5 shoots are green screen. My clients are starting to ask for green screen so I can drop them into anything. DVmatte Blast is great, but I would really be happy with a real time keyer in FCP. Roundtripping sometime crashes studio. I don’t think that would be brain surgery. I think I am going to wait a while before I upgrade. When I start getting projects that are already started in 2 then I will go over. I am fine with 5.1.
