That is a loss. If someone isn’t careful they may drag one audio clip onto another. After a few saves, it is going to be work to fix.

Are you on a quad MAC? I have been having all kinds of capture problems, especially dropped frames and audio drift. I called adobe, they said a patch is on the way. Go figure. Anyway, I Capture on a windows machine and it works fine. then I copy the session to the MAC and start my edit.

Needless to say I am very frustrated. I am also trying to say there are some bugs in the MAC version.

    Weird,

I see it in a lot of other posts. You are right, the MAC is much more stable than Win. That is why I pushed so hard for it. But, the I use the same capture deck on either machine. Adobe even admitted to the problem and said a patch was on the way.

I can capture in Win and copy the project to the MAC, but it defeats the purpose. I had to capture video yesterday and it came over without a sync problem.

June 27, 2008 at 4:27 am in reply to: help opening CS3 files from WIN XP to a MAC

Thanks for the insight. Everything was CS3 win and MAC. I just had to open the project and tell the MAC where to go to get the individual files. It can be laborious, since show intros and graphics are scattered on other drives, but we are putting together a workflow/filing system that should make things a lot easier.

I am not busting on XP, but I am glad I am back on MAC. I didn’t have to restart the MAC all day. I only had one CS3 crash because I pushed it too hard. Now I can learn its boundaries and be productive.

Again, I am not biased, but what would we do without the MAC OS and its stability.

June 6, 2008 at 2:25 pm in reply to: scrubbing audio

Audio scrubbing is selected under preferences and audio. I am on a win XP machine that has a panasonic AG-DV2500 firewire deck for capturing. I hear sound on playback and capture, but no sound while scrubbing. The deck is hooked to a monitor via rca cable (Video, audio)

Would scrubbing try to default to the windows sound card? I am a MAC guy and know little about windows and corresponding drivers.

I am seeing the .mxf clips, but I can’t highlight any of them. I downloaded the PC2MS AC intra software decoder.

Again, I am very tired from my week and am not concentrating well. There may be something I am missing.

I tried to import and it wouldn’t let me. I have FCP 5, not the new 6. I do have all the software updates. Do I load a p2 filter. Again, since I have a firestore, I have never used P2.

    Thanks,

April 24, 2008 at 3:07 pm in reply to: RE: HVX 200 outdoor settings

I believe the gain was off. i am very compulsive about things. I have bright sunlight today and took the camera out and turned it on (after a reset). I had better image. It was a little blown out, but that is to be expected. I adjusted the iris and things were fine. I think my initial problem was waking with the camera on from inside to outside. They reset may have helped.

    Thanks.

I talked to panasonic and they said there my be an iris problem while on automatic. They told me to reset everything and then take it outside and see if it is till blown out. I get what you are saying and intense light should blow out the image. i just didn’t expect it to me so drastic.
