Thank you Joshua! This technique worked beautifully for me for in turning a jump cut (from an interview with static background) into a seamless transition. I had seen posts about various morph filters on the market, but this simple solution did the trick and saved me time and money. I only needed to create a few extra frames, not a 2 second transition. And I believe that is exactly what the original poster needed.

Dave, if you had read a little more carefully you could have seen that the poster was just trying to cover a jump cut (2 seconds were cut out), not re-create 2 seconds of material. Obviously whether this technique would have worked for them would depend on how much the subject and camera moved. But lecturing about what the poster should have done is beyond unhelpful, and cutaways are not always appropriate.
