I talked with an AVID technical support guy yesterday, he was baffled, he even took remote control of my workstation and after 40 minutes, he gave up and said the much dreaded phrase: “I suggest reinstalling the software”, so my desperate attempt to solve this without having to go there seems to flounder. I wonder though, if there is anybody out there that has some experience, using script to change things on the interface, who can have something to say, that might be worth trying right before committing to re-install the whole thing. Thank
PS: I don’t feel inclined to do the screen shot for 2 reason, 1: I am logging into the forum using my Mac Laptop (I’m a Mac user) I wouldn’t know how to make that screen shot in my PC-based, Windows XP-powered work station, and have to go through the motions of transferring said screen shot to my Laptop (not an easy undertaking, at the moment) and 2: I am convinced it will not add much to helping understanding the problem, I am not trying to be rude or snobbish, there are issues of resolution of the screen shot and the resolution of the display used to see it. The difference between both might “hide” the problem, making it not very easy to grasp, if you don’t know how big those numbers use to look (A1 V1 etc) how can you tell how much smaller they look now. Many of the others editor who seen my problem, don’t seem to be able to see anything wrong, they just think is the way my settings are affecting what’s been displayed. Only after comparing their station with mine and after reproducing the bit of shrinking and expanding tracks in their station is when they come to see the problem and actually agree with me that is not a big deal, but big enough of an annoyance to just let it be without trying to fix it.
Sorry for the big PS.
