Hi Sreekumar. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. And thank you also for providing just what I have been looking for! Here I imagined I was a good manual reader, but I completely missed this. Just as well others are more careful.

You have saved me a lot of time and an amount of money. Thank you again. May I wish you all the best in these uncertain times.

Thank you all for your replies. Sorry, I missed stating my version of Resolve – it’s 15.2 Studio. And yes, I guess I am looking from explorer. The file is preceded by the Windows Media Player logo and the type is listed accordingly. Windows 10 is also the latest.

I shall start experimenting with the file extensions. When I try to drag the file in the usual way it appears to drag OK, ie the usual little “copy” box appears but on releasing the mouse key it vanishes with nothing in the Media pool.

  • Thank you all very much for your replies. I have tried/checked them all but no luck. I am going to go back to first base and re-install Resolve. I have never had this before in any editing program and seeing as 99.99% of users don’t have this problem now, it must be peculiar to my set-up.

    Thanks again, and best wishes.

  • Thanks for your reply, Tero. I should have mentioned that I am running Win 10 Pro. In fact the whole computer is new (a few weeks) and was built to suit Resolve. Accordingly, it has a very fast CPU, a high-end motherboard and an 11Gb GPU.

It also has a BM mini Monitor 4K card feeding the picture monitor and the results are spectacular. Except, of course, it’s very quiet …

I’m trying to play the audio through the motherboard 5.1 surround (Realtek) or stereo as the case may be and, again, the results are excellent except for the silence from Resolve.

Yes, I have tried the audio with “use system audio output” both selected and unselected and also in both stereo and in 5.1 mode, but nothing I try makes any difference. I feel the error must be somewhere in Resolve and I fear it must be something I have overlooked as the program, downloaded about a week ago, seems to work perfectly otherwise.
