I’ve been working on the same problem and wanted to jump in on the conversation…
At this point I’m trying to relink the media from FCP to a Automatic “ducked” sequence…I’ve been told by AD support that changing the tape source names is the next step to reconnect…and that I would be able to use the AMA imported footage this way…but I can’t seem to reset the clips tape name because of this error:
“The Clip(s) you have selected could not be modified. Only master clips in the project rate can be modified when using set source”
As this project contains so many different codecs (DV, XDCAM HD 1080, P2 720, and Cannon 7D 1080p) and rates (29.97 and 23.9) how am I ever going to come up with a project that has the same rates as the source?
To modify the setting I was told to:
****Select ALL of your clips from “tape 1” and then choose Clip->Modify->Source and then create a new “tape 1” and modify all of those clips to be from the new “tape 1”. Repeat for all tapes.****
My next step is unclear: would I just do a normal relink for this or would there be some search settings I should select.
Also I’m not sure if renaming it “tape 1” will remap them or if this was just an example (this question has been sent and I’m waiting on the reply) but if not “tape 1” what do I rename it inorder to relink the sequence…(ie Cannon…P2…XD CAM disk 1) and if it has to match some assignment given to it in FCP… where do I find that info…On my import into Avid the clip have no tape info.
I hope some of this is clear,
Thanks,
Nathan
