Funny most recording studio professionals would take a miced amp over a straight line in any day of the week. For a rock metal sounding guitar the defacto standard is a Shure 57 mic.

next in your line up you would be concerned about a mic pre amp and then your A2D conversion. If you are using a line 6 I believe the A2D is better than a soundblaster.

As far as removing files one has to Destroy the file not just delete it. Under Clip.

Somecontrols disappear when the prog is not fully expanded

When you find out what your audio sampling rate is on the avi using the aforementioned properties determining program then click new on AA1.5 and set your audio sample rate to match. Then import the file.
By the way as a very long time user of Cool Edit Pro 2.1 and AA 1.5 AA 2.0 AA 3.0. Consider yourself lucky you haven’t upgraded. I have already lost $200 on the stupidity of Adobe’s upgrades. 1.5 still works the best!

I am using ATI product. I have several capture cards.
So if I capture using Mpeg 2 then I will cut the encoding time?
I also was a generic menu that shows up the files if they exist otherwise that menu item does not show up.
I do have some C++ programming skills and the digital rapids card is intreging but I am also in a hurry.
Any idea on the cost of a Digital Rapids card???

So it looks like maybe my request is asking far too much.
I know that reading an .avi off a DVD does not work well.
