That’s great thanks Wick. Wish I’d know that earlier. Is that info in the user guide? Anyway it worked so thanks for the prompt reply. It’s a shame we only tend to post when we have a problem, which must be a bit discouraging for you guys. So I must say how incredibly happy I am with version 13 ( along with most of the earlier versions also) Keep up the great work, this is a brilliant system and it just keeps getting better

Thanks Floh, resizing in Red worked a treat.

Not sure if this is connected to my sync problem, but I use XD SD with embedded audio via SDI, and nearly every time I digitize, I find several clips with out of sync audio. Once I find one clip out, then all the clips that follow will be out, but by varying amounts. Anyway I’ve just become used to checking the clips and batch re-digitizing all the problem clips. This slows down the process but always solves the problem for me. Certainly beats trying to lip sync everything. It’s a shame though because I was thinking that 12.5 might solve my problem. Maybe it will.

Thanks for your advice Floh, it’s very helpful. I’ll play around with the camera tests.

Thanks Floh, Yes they seem keen on shooting progressive to achieve a certain look. Not exactly sure what the look is. I’m to get some test footage tomorrow so I guess I’ll see for myself. If, as you suggest, I cut the progressive in an interlaced timeline, is the progressive look maintained?
And would this potentially overcome some of the field rendering problems you speak of? Do I still import the material as progressive? Can the look be achieved in post to interlaced video? I’m working in Pal on version 12.1.3
    Thanks for your help.

Just to clarify my situation. 8 bit SD. No audio scan on. Audio rate at 48.

Tried the activity monitor and if I’m reading the thing properly, it seems to indicate that the cpu is operating at around 50% during a typical render. I am working with XD Cam material 8bit uncompressed.

I have 2GB Ram. My media is coming off external firewire 800 drives but program data and graphics are stored internally. Same work method I used last year with no problem. It’s not a major thing as relaunching M100 seems to solve it, but it’s just a bit annoying.

Sorry Bob I can’t give you an answer, but I can confirm I’m having the same problem from time to time. Yesterday it happened while mastering out a program. I’m also running a 2.5 Quad G5 with M100 12.1.3 OS 10.5.1. I’ve also noticed that occasionally when rendering I get a message warning that there is insufficient memory allocation to complete the task. If I restart M100 it renders it without complaint. Also, some renders take way longer than they should while others scream through, and at least two or three times a week M100 just disappears without warning. These are not things I’ve encountered on previous versions.
