  • No,

i’m sorry that my question was so poorly worded. I’m simply trying to remove the pulldown added by the dvx-100a when you shoot 24P instead of 24PA. Cinematool recognizes that the media has 2/3 pulldown flags in the video stream, and does an automatic reverse telecine. The file i get out of cinematools is shorter in length (time wise) than the one i put in. Think about it, and hour of 24P @60i should be the same time length as 24P @ 23.98… an hour of video is an hour of video.

For some reason when i try to do this with large clips, cinematools changes the length of the clip. Smaller clips work fine, but anything over a couple gig makes cinematools do this weird speed up. The funny thing is the sound is not affected, it plays at normal speed, but the video is sped up and loses synch in the new clip.

am i going crazy, but isnt cinematools supposed to remove the pulldown from the dvx-100 when shot in 24P!? am i the only one having this problem?

  • also, when i watch the new quicktime clips from CT, the sound is not pitch shifted and plays normaly, but it loses synch with
the picture because the picture is running at a faster speed…

does anyone have any ideas? the same thing happened when i took the drive to a friends computer. The only
other variable i can think of is the fact that i have a Black Magic decklink extreme card in the system… but
i captured the clips via firewire.

anyone run into this CT problem before??

    thanks,
    manu
