Thanks CaptM. So, to clarify…I should just stick with the 29.97 timecode?

Also, when I am using compressor, it says, “Can’t connect to Background proccesses” when I press submit. How do I fix this/begin to export?

    Thanks!

Thanks Kevin! One last question…How do you add 1 pixel of vertical blur?

    Ok, thanks!

Excuse my ignorance, but is the native framrate for an XL2 at 30 P 30 or 29.97?

Also, is it better to export to Quicktime or using Compressor?

    Thanks,

    Matt

    Jeff,

I really appreciate the response. Ok, well I have already put the about 40 jpegs into the sequence so that is good news. But there does seem to be some sort of interference (right word?). The edges seem to almost beam and ficker and seem a bit blurry although the jpegs are crystal clear. This occurs especially on white or shingles (They are pictures of New Orleans devastation).

    Any thoughts?

  • Sorry to intrude…I shot on an XL2 in 16×9, 30P. I have edited on a 16:9 secquence in FCP. I am hopefully going to put it on a DVD using DVD Studio Pro. Is it better to export on the 16:9 sequence and then let DVDSP letterbox or letterbox it in a 4×3 sequence and then export?

Also, should I be exporting wiith an editing Timebase of 29.97 or 30?

Also also, should the timecode rate be “Same as editing Timebase,” 30 Drop Frame, or 30 Non-Drop Frame?

Thank you so much! I am trying to submit to a festival in 2 days so help would be greatly appreciated asap.
