I totally agree on your take on the huge database, I’ll try that.
I am the last of several people tha worked in this doc and for several reasons (lack of experience in managing FCP etc etc) I have the files all over the place ,backups ,QT of entire timelines from 3 years ago, together with other files that should’t be in the media drives,
I just checked there are 5 different capture scratch folders. I think that this also could be the issue.
hard for FCP to have to go look for files all over.
So what if I consolidate all media files with media manager in one drive that will contain only 1 capture scratch that belong to the project?
I hope that this make sense(sometimes my english is not really correct)

No, I don’t have a capture card and the only thing hooked up is an external firewire Gdrive.
