Hey guys,
I’m having the same issue but unfortunately trashing preferences didn’t cut it, nor did reinstalling.
I have an image sequence rendered out of Nuke, im working with 25fps.
Compressor interprets the footage as 29.97 so i change it to 25, then choose my codec and submit. It always freezes in the end and i do not get the full duration.
Any ideas?

No problem, i’m aware that ofcourse it is a choice but i was just advising that it’s always a bad idea….atleast in my opinion.

Actually i would just like to add that if your main output format is DVD, then you must de-interlace your work before authoring it. Interlaced footage is mainly for broadcast.

Hi Erik,
I tried purging and clearing the cache, and still the same.
I imported shot_vfx_083 & 092 and it worked as expected
but when i imported 001 to 003, dragged 001 to a new comp and it was named 004
(: so i guess it will remain a myth.
Thanks for the help though.

I opened a new project and imported only 2 shots :
Shot_vfx_001
Shot_vfx_002When i drag Shot_vfx_001 to make a new comp, its then called Shot_vfx_003
so i deleted the numbers and tried again, so now the name is Shot_vfx and then dragged that to make a new comp and guess what the comp name is identical to the shot name.
Weird! maybe it has to do with this specific naming convention

December 14, 2009 at 6:28 am in reply to: Exported Green Screen Footage from FCP is pixelated in After EffectsI don’t think fields should be off, i never heard of dv being progressive so im pretty sure it is interlaced plus judging those images i cant see pixelation but what i can see is that the footage is slightly blurred and maybe this is because you have your fields settings wrong so try interpreting as lower field first and tell me what you got.
Hope this helps

December 14, 2009 at 5:33 am in reply to: Exported Green Screen Footage from FCP is pixelated in After EffectsHow did you interpret the footage in AE?
right click on your footage—-interpret—-main
make sure you have the right settings

Yes but if i interpret my footage (35mm telecined) as upper fields, it kinda of blurs it. Also if i set my render setting to output upper fields it still introduces some blurring or flickery artifacts to my renders. So after testing what works as expected is when i interpert my 720/576 10 bit 422 which was originally shot with 35 mm, as progressive scan as well as outputting it with no fields…unless any other suggestions are out there.

Thanks for these fast and very informative replies. So how do i work with psf footage? in FCP’s timeline..do i set the sequence settings to no fields or upper? or is there a way or a codec to digitize as psf in the first place?
Arnie, i’m positive that when i output 10bit uncompressed as progressive and my original comp settings are 720/576 Pal progressive and then import back, it reads it as lower fields.
