Hi Michael, my 2008 MacPro is starting to have issues with the mother board recognizing the ram modules, causing hangs and startup problems. Not switching over entirely though – We bought an identical functioning backup 2008 MacPro for $500 to keep M100 humming along for legacy projects. Still, we are planning to start shooting 4k content, and hope the Thunderbolt 2 interface (and 32 GB of ram with a new Pegasus array will speed us along (not so much with M100, but with rendering in After Effects and/or Boris). Also moving away from Drobo Pro iSCSI storage – it works okay for now, but have been very disappointed with their support…

I am currently migrating from a silver Mac Pro tower to a new 27″ iMac 5k. I am successfully ingesting HD-SDI video via a used Aja ioXT. M100 2.1.7 seems to be working fine so far under OSX Sierra, but Boris Red 5.1 is running sloooooow. Anybody have an idea how to get it up to speed? Will post query under separate post soon…

I’ve been shooting DVCPROHD 1080i with an HPX500 and HPX370 for a couple years now, and have no problem with M100 Suite 2.0.2 playing back the material.
If you are having trouble playing back in QT, Premier and FCP as well, maybe you’ve got an old codec or something. Do you have another computer with QT you could try it on? Or perhaps a fresh install of the DVCPRO codecs will help?

Make sure you are passing analog audio signal as well – I’ve had problems getting video until M100 sees audio too…
