November 17, 2012 at 9:33 am in reply to: Cannot open .AVI on Mac (OSStatus error -50)Thak you for your reaction. Yes, in the past my files opened without any problem. I tried opening the same files on my laptop as well: same problem. Very strange, especially since opening with VideoSpec is no problem. So the capture is there (!) and not lost, it seems. Rebooting… should I try?

Hi Mark and others,
I cannot be the only one having a dustspot on my footage… and just when I prepared myself for cloning thousands of frames in Photoshop, I found this:
https://www.chv-plugins.com/cms/Fx-Script/CloneAndPaint-collection/Clone.php
It looks promising…
Since it may help other desparate editors as well, I like to share the link with you. Now I go and try this plugin!

Dear Mark,
Thank you very much for your detailed step-by-step answer, that really helps me. Now I understand the procedure and will give it a try. The snacks and filled ipod is not the problem…. my client is!
Will let you know if it worked 😉
Have a nice day!

Thank you all for your suggestions.
Mark, I have photoshop CS4 extended and know how to use the healing brush etc. But I don’t understand how to output the frames as a stills sequence or frame movie…
Can you only help me out here?
Because as I understand it now (even if you use a droplet or action), a clip of 2 minutes would mean editing more than 2800 images (frames)… Or do I completely misunderstand?
Thanks,
Mirjam -
Thanks! I posted the video and it’s best if you allow it to load first.

Hi Greg, Finally found the time to import and export my movie as per your advice. Still a question! I followed each and every step you listed and my movie is 4.30 minutes and 501,1 Mb. Isn’t that much too big for – for instance – Vimeo? Or did I do something wrong in compressor, you think? What would an average size be, for such a short movie? I feel a bit reluctant uploading such a huge file.
Thanks again!

Norman, this is nice to hear! It’s a start! Cannot wait to really show what I shot, both in photos and video (and audio). First have to practice and learn more, but I’ll be back! 😉

Greg, your advice and answers have been very stimulating and helpful and I hope to be able to show (you) result soon.
Yes, BD-R and watching it on a large HDTV with good photos must be great. Will try that as well.
Have a nice day in the show,

Dear Greg,
Thank you so much for your answer. This is more detailed than I could have hoped for. As you probably noticed, I am new when it comes to FCP editing (and video in general). I will follow each and every step and see if it will load faster and look better. I have many clips that I feel are good, but I need to improve the editing! Your answer helps me a lot.
The shots were takens with a 14-24 Nikkor. A beautiful lens, but I should not have filmed in its widest angle, I feel.
Thank you!
