Ok, so it acts like Final Cut in that if you import a file other then the native file (i.e. — MP4/FLV/etc. since Premiere supports so many), you need to render it out?

Ok. Thanks. We are trying to avoid using coding if possible, and just work from a design perspective, if that changes any of the suggestions for software to use.

    Thanks.

if we decide to go this route, how much on the programming side would it take? i need to start learning languages, but unfortunately I only know English…i don’t know Drupal, CSS, ActionScript, Joomla, any kind of CMS, etc.

    Thanks.

Bitvice looks really nice, however, what I need is something hardware related because I need to be able to digitize and compress/encode/transcode in one step. I do a lot of work where a client will ask me to make a quick dub from a tape, or add time code (super on the deck). If I have to digitize first, that means that I have to digitize, and then get it out of the editing system, and then compress, which usually means even with the fastest encoders double real-time. With a card, i’d be able to do realtime. This doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it means that a 3 hour dub just turned into 5-6 hours without a card.

What options are there out there that are highly recommended for PC and are there really no Mac options?

Once I figure out how to get it out of Avid (Long GOP issues) I’m taking the QT Ref (I hope) into Adobe Media Encoder and then into Adobe Encore. If I do that, what settings should I use?

Is there a better way to do it?

I have a post in the Encore Forum too, but this was a more general question of what settings to use: https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/145/867761

    THANKS!
