    Hi,

Yes, the Copy functions produce an exact copy as you would expect, with all the settings intact, but the problems arise when I change the content. I am pasting just a couple of sentences in with no carriage returns, at this point the auto-positioning places it where ever it thinks is best, usually with a shift to the left along the X axis to accomodate all the text. I then insert carriage returns and font/size values to format the text. Once the text is formatted I have to re-align it by eye because the X & Y positioning co-ordinates are (I think) taken from the centre of box which now holds slightly different content and so now has different dimensions, hence the previous co-ordinates are no longer appropriate. If I could set the X,Y co-ordinates of the top left corner and allow the text box to expand right and down as the formatted text dictates, I know then the box would be correctly positioned on each instance.
For example – the text ‘The Cat’s Mat’ would be positioned correctly. A copy made is edited to read ‘The Cat Sat On The Mat’ – an extra 9 characters. The text box will be moved the X value equivalent of 4.5 characters to the left, where what I really wanted was for the text box to stay in postion and to expand right and/or down as the formatting dictates.

Sorry it’s long winded, but I hope I’ve explained my issue accurately.

    Mike.

I have experience of analogue capture using budget equipment.

Whilst it was fairly straightforward as far as the software is concerned, there was a huge snyc problem with the audio either racing ahead or lagging behind (can’t recall which) to the tune of about 5s per minute. After some research the problem was down to the differing clock rates that the PCI capture card and the onboard audio in socket on the mobo operated at. Apparently this is less of an issue if all your capture devices run from the same timer controller.

I now own a Canopus ADVC110 which is perfect for the job you need doing.

My suggestion is to get someone with the kit to do it for him or he may find its £ or $ wasted in useless PCI cards & software, not to mention the frustration and time.

    Mike.
