You could build a series of pre-pitch-corrected audio effects and just drop them on your fit-to-filled clips. Takes a bit of time ahead of time, but could make your life easier. At one facility I work for regularly I’ve set up something along these lines and use it every time I’m there.

For a number of things I’d rather be working on a smoke, too, but all budgets (including my own) have limitations.

Um… Audio Filters -> Apple -> AUPitch. It’s not “automatic” (you gotta’ add it manually) but it does the job just fine.
