Other suggestions:
1. use Compressor Repair to trash preferences
2. Try using an unmodified Apple setting. Set the in/out for 1 minute. Submit. (I once had a bad setting causing the problem).
3.Test on another piece of footage.
4. Do standard maintenance: Disk Utility repair permissions, Disc Warrior, Onyx, Safe Boot.

Also, you can open the FCP exported marker list in Excel, then delete/rearrange columns until it’s in the correct style. Save as text file, then import in DVDSP.

No semicolons (;). Use colons (:) only. First entry must be 00:00:00:00

I had success dissolving from let’s say masked Scene 1 to Scene 2 on video track 1. The Scene 1 mask is on video track two (above V1). I copied Scene 2 on track 1 and placed it directly above Scene 2 on video track 2 using Shift-alt. I placed dissolves between the Scene 1 mask and Scene 2 (on V2) and Scene 1 and Scene 2 (on V1). Mute or delete the extra audio from copied Scene 2.

I found this post in the Apple Forum re: KG core:
“The KGCore plug-in is in FCP Contents. You have to dig-in the Final Cut Pro app and if you search for KGCore you will probably find 2 files (a folder named something like KGCore.framework and a Unix executable file) deleting those 2 won’t do you any good. Fully removing and re-installing the app worked for me though. Hope I helped.”
Re: trashing prefs, FCP Rescue backs up your prefs and easily reinstalls them. Freeware: https://fcprescue.andersholck.com
Re: thumbnail cache, my system setup per info from https://larryjordan.biz has all files on my external HD except the FCP app. This has worked well for me two years. Best wishes!

August 14, 2005 at 1:17 am in reply to: ANIMATED THUMBNAIL (POSTER) FOR BUTTON LINKED TO SUBMENUIt works!!! I rewrote your info to be a little more explicit. I’m a chef too! :>) Thanks again!
1. Save your menu as a file (Menu > Save As File), you’ll import this PSD file into PPro later.
2. Create a new PPro project, either standard 4:3 or 16:9, depending on your DVD project needs.
3. Import the PSD file you created in step 1, Insert it onto video track 1.
4. Import the video that you want to play in the thumbnail.
5. Add it to video track 2. Apply the transform video effects, then using effects control scale and position, resize it so it fits in the button. Select uniform scale to keep correct proportions.
6. Make sure both clips are of equal length, then export an AVI (as movie) from PPro with Optimize Stills unchecked (important).
7. Import this AVI as an asset into Encore.
8. Using the Encore Selection Tool (Shift V) select the avi and alt drag it onto your menu. Or use the menu’s video pickwhip and select the avi.
9. Select the button you are replacing the new video with. Open the layers palette. Open that button’s folder and either delete its video layer or toggle off the viewing.
10. File > Render Motion Menus.

August 12, 2005 at 9:01 pm in reply to: ANIMATED THUMBNAIL (POSTER) FOR BUTTON LINKED TO SUBMENUNot exactly sure what you mean. Let’s say I make a 30 sec. clip for my poster/thumbnail in premiere and then export it as an asset. Do I put in the layer set for the “Scenes” button? Step by step please. Thanks big time!
