My career path has brought me expertise in meeting daily, national deadlines; editorial and technical problem solving; shared storage, workflow and facility design; digital asset management; web video techniques; training and mentoring, and the clear communications skills required for team environments.
I'm a veteran of professional TV since my start in the early 1980s, having worked for NBC News, The Christian Science Monitor, and WBZ Boston among others, an "old hand" still cheerfully learning new tricks. Along the way I've taken detours to work for state-of-the-art companies such as Avid, Pinnacle, and Facilis Technology and A3iO.
In the past five years I've leveraged my knowledge of editing and editing system technology to help two companies convert from local, single-point-of-failure storage to fully functioning SANs with the associated improvement and streamlining of workflows, saving time, vastly improving reliability, and enhancing the product. I've drawn on these experiences for presentations at Future Media Concepts' NAB Post Production Conference.
