FYI, I ended up buying the Wacom Bamboo.

It’s my first tablet, so I was worried about picking the correct features: size, functions buttons, etc. Although my tablet is the smaller Bamboo, I love it. After installing the driver, its been plug-n-play. Also, I like the small surface area because it takes less motion to move across my HUGE screen. I don’t have issue getting at the small stuff either. Not sure if it’s Wacom or Tablet but – GRAPHICS HAVE CHANGED FOR THE BETTER.

    I FIGURED IT OUT!

I left out an action at the end > RENDER

Apparently this is an important one.
Discovered the solution by opening an example workflow, then subbing some actions.
Yadda Yadda – I’m going outside now.

    Ok,
So it’s something within the Illustrator file. I imported a simple .ai file, that has just two layers and it’s working fine…the file that is not working well has a gradient, mask, and 7 layers.
