But couldn’t AE create a type layer sized mask – at the bounding box size of the type at the current frame when the mask is created?

I’ve been in touch with Seb, the script author, and sent a test file – so he’s aware of the issue. Hopefully a fix will follow.

I just happened to stumble over this thread when I was here posting something else.

As it happens – I’ve just had the same experience of ‘save comp as project’ overwriting a file.

I think it was a due to some comp names I was processing having an illegal Windows file name character – ie any one of: < > : ” / | ? *

I think I had a “/” in a comp name.

I’m going to try and run a brief test today and report back to the author.
