I tried using the Keyspan and it just dosnt work. Black Magic really offers no support or “how to” so I haev to get my work done and cant play around anymore with this. I am ordering the addenda and it wil arrive this week. I will post my experience with it but so far I am VERY dissapointed with the threads that suggest that the keyspan will work with the UVW1400A.

I looked at the manual link page 23 it details Setting Blackmagic Preferences
Preserving Blanking Data or VANC is this the instructions talked about in this thread. The deck also allows us to vary the baud rate of the serial port… this info is not detailed as to which settings on teh deck are best. I also dont see an specific reference to the keyspan adapter in the manual be nice if there was a specific tech note
