    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick response.
    My Z1 is set on HDV, ‘Component’ is 1080i/576i, iLink Conv is off, Downconvert is Squeeze, and A/V DV OUT is ON. It’s linked direct to my Imac via Firewire and set to VCR mode. When I start up FCP, I get an “unable to find external devices” warning.

    I used Easy setup with Format: HDV and Use: HDV 1080i50 FIrewire Basic.
    No joy so far. I must be missing something.
