Mark: perfect. Exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks for this and all the other help you provide. Michael

  • Jason:
    Sorry for the late reply.
    I’m at work.

When I have grouped all my objects together (scale, notes,) they become a singular, rectangular unit.
I want that single unit to flow along a curved path, conforming as it moves similar to what a flag looks like when it waves.
Hope this better explains what I’m looking for.

    Thanks.

    Stephen & Jason:
    Sorry for the late reply.
    Thanks for your input.
I solved the problem by not using a cap, after all.
The imagery is stylized, so needing a cap is just a touch of OCD on my part.
However, the info you both provided will give me an opportunity to play around once I finish editing the footage and delivering the product.
Again, thanks to you ,and Creative Cow, for being there.

    Not certain what you mean.

    Did that.
What I need to know is how I cover up the spout part under the cap and have it come into view as the cap comes off.
ex. you grab your right index finger with your left hand, completely covering it.
As your left hand moves up, each knuckle of the right indez finger comes into view.

Right now I’m having it appear a couple of frames before the cap flies off, which is discernable only if you’re looking for it, but the OCD part of me wants it to look “real world”.

Thanks again for your expertise and your patience.

Sorry Stephen, for the lack of info.
I created it with the bezier tool using an image as the template.

Here is the image I used for the outline:
    https://www.123rf.com/photo_8980087_classic-cocktail-shaker-3d-render.html

I made each section as an individual part (cap, lip, main body, etc.) and gave each the Write On behavior to make it “appear”.
When it all “appears” as a single unit, it rises up.
When it reaches the top of the Motion Path, it “shakes” a bit, up and down, before Spinning to empty into a glass.
I want the cap to fly off (Motion Path, again)just before it Spins, and as it does, it reveals the spout.
I made the spout by copying the outline for the cap, and making it smaller.
Hope this better explains what I’m trying to do.
    Thanks.

    Andrew & Jason:
Thanks so much for all the input.
The project has already been used, but I liked the look of it, and wanted to use something similar again.
As stated, I was diddling with brush strokes and came across the style.
I figured it was the hog, but thought maybe more memory would solve the issue.
I’ll play around with your suggestions and see what I can come up with.
Again, thanks to you, and Cow, for being here to help.

    Andrew:
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
    I have 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.
The bridge and text are made in motion.
The bridge is the “syrup”. I know because I made it first, using lines which were turned into Shape Style:Liquid:Ink Bleed 02 Taper (discovered this while playing around. No firm knowledge foundation).
I read someplace today that Type On may have been a better, and less resource heavy, way to go for each line.
How do I upload the file to you?
    Thanks for helping.

    Stephen:
Thank you so much for the swift reply.
It’s what makes you folks so great.

My next question is: how do I create a mask on the moving fish within which I put the image?
Should I use the bezier mask tool, draw the mask around the fish, and, if so, do I need to Match Move the mask as well as the fish?
    Thanks again.

    Hemma:
    Thanks for responding.
As happens from time to time, I clear my head (mentally “trash my preferences”), start fresh, and, even though I follow the same steps I did when the problem started, everything works fine.
All is well and I’m off to cut.
    Thanks again.
