I noticed the the DEQ2496 does not have an RCA AES output (Just an Optical/XLR). Did you just use an XLR to BNC cable to connect the unit the the TV Studio? I’m just wondering because other posts said that the XLR AES Output on the SRC2496 was a different frequency than what the TV Studio takes in and they needed a converter. Just want to make sure I get everything I need in one pass. Thanks!

Ok a couple months late but this is still relevant info to me. Are you saying that the DEQ2496 not only does the Analogue to Digital Conversion for input to the TVS but also has the delay function? I was two seconds away from purchasing the Shark DSP110 along with the SRC 2496.
Please say that it is so!!!!

I am looking at getting the ATEM TV Studio for a Film/TV production class at the Middle School I work at. I like the TV studio and it’s simplicity/price point. I already have an analogue Peavey v-8 mixer with 1/4 inch jack main outs. Please correct me if I’m wrong but from what I am reading I can take the main mixer outputs into the shark DSP110 then from the shark DSP110 into the SRC2496 to be converted to digital and then FINALLY into the TV Studio via a RCA -> BNC cable? My thinking is that the audio would be delayed coming from the mixer and then be converted for the TV Studio’s AES input then BAMMY WAM! we have synced lips? ( given i set the delay correctly 😛 )
If this is the case it would be perfect for pre recording our morning announcements!
Also, in my humble opinion, wouldn’t things be so much easier if we the Black Magic Design recording software just allowed you to choose where the audio input was coming from? In other words just have your analogue mixer connected to an input on your computer and set the software to use that as the stream’s audio in the compressed recording. Just a thought… I know it isn’t possible at the moment but I can always dream of simpler solutions.

Also, as an aside…
I understand or can not find on Behringer’s website whether or not the SRC2496 has built in audio delay control. Does it? If it doesn’t is it correct to say that I can simply take the Behringer Shark and put it in between the output of the mixer to the input on the SRC2496?
Essentially delaying the audio before it gets to the processor which would then convert it to an digital signal that can be plugged into the TV Studio.
Is the delay crazy or am I just being a little crazy about it? It is only 3 or 4 audio inputs from the mixer.
